COSEM Class 67 (Credit Interface) and Class 68 (Charge Interface) bridge the gap between 20-digit STS prepayment tokens and DLMS/COSEM communications.

Workflow

  1. Consumer inputs 20-digit token via meter keypad or mobile app.
  2. Meter decodes token using STS cipher algorithm.
  3. Upon verification, Class 67 updates Attribute 2 (current_credit_amount).
  4. If credit drops below Attribute 4 (low_credit_threshold), the meter triggers a warning buzzer and sends an emergency push notification to the utility HES.
